Steve Weyer

FOUNDER

Steve Weyer grew up in Kentucky and Ohio, but he has been a resident of Georgia on-and-off for the past two decades.

Steve started his firm in 2017 after several years working as a litigator at a boutique law firm in New York City.  In that work, Steve saw both the benefits of having a thoughtful estate plan and the negative consequences of lacking one.  Steve opened this firm with a focus on helping clients find peace of mind in the present and avoiding problems for their spouses, children, and heirs down the road.

Steve is admitted to practice law in Georgia and New York. In the State Bar of Georgia, Steve is a member of the Real Estate Section and a board member of the Fiduciary Law Section.

Steve has two undergraduate degrees, a law degree, and a master's degree in theology from Emory University.  At Emory Law, Steve was a Woodruff Fellow, recipient of the most prestigious scholarship offered by the school. He continues to serve his alma mater as a member of the Planning Giving Advisory Board, and he in a two-year term as president of the Oxford College Alumni Board.

Before becoming a lawyer, Steve directed a soup kitchen and homeless shelter in New York City and worked two growing seasons as an apprentice on an organic farm in New Jersey.  These days he volunteers in and around Atlanta, including with the DeKalb County Probate Information Center, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Georgia Heirs Property Law CenterGeorgia Legal Services, and the Start:ME program at Emory's Goizueta Business School.  He has been named a "Pro Bono All-Star" in multiple editions of the Georgia Bar Journal and, in 2021, Steve shared a “Leading the Charge” award from the DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.

Steve and his family live in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. Folks living near Bessie Branham Park may see him with his dog, Lou.  Steve is a member of the Kirkwood Business Owners Association. He attends Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
