Steve Weyer
FOUNDER
Stephen Weyer has called Georgia home for most of the past thirty years, though his roots trace back to Kentucky and Ohio. These days, he lives in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood with his family and his dog, Lou—a familiar sight to anyone near Bessie Branham Park.
Steve founded Weyer Law in 2017 with a clear mission: to help clients find peace of mind in the present and protect their families from unnecessary complications down the road. Through his work in estate planning, he's seen firsthand how thoughtful preparation can make all the difference—giving clients confidence today and sparing their loved ones additional difficulty tomorrow.
Steve previously worked as a litigator at a boutique firm in New York City. He is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, serving on the executive board of the Fiduciary Law Section and participating in the Real Estate Section.
Before law school, Steve spent two growing seasons as an apprentice on an organic farm in New Jersey, and then spent three years directing outreach programs, including a soup kitchen and homeless shelter, in New York City. Service remains central to his life. He volunteers with the DeKalb County Probate Information Center, Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Georgia Heirs Property Law Center, Georgia Legal Services, and Emory's Start:ME program at Goizueta Business School. He's been recognized as a "Pro Bono All-Star" in multiple editions of the Georgia Bar Journal, and in 2021, he shared a "Leading the Charge" award from the DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
Steve received a JD from Emory University School of Law, a Masters in Theological Studies from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, a BA from Emory College of Arts and Sciences, and an AA from Oxford College of Emory University. Steve is presently serving as president of the Oxford College Alumni Board.
Steve and his family are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in the Old Fourth Ward.
